With The Fast and the Furious fans’ growing anticipation for the upcoming eighth installment of the franchise titled The Fate of the Furious, Vin Diesel recently gave a tribute for the late Paul Walker through a throwback Instagram post. Take a look on Diesel’s emotional statement for his good old friend!

The Fate of the Furious is the second installment where Walker would not be featured in. The first one was in 2006 for Tokyo Drift. Looking back, Walker’s name flooded the headlines in 2013 when he passed away due to a tragic car accident. The reason for his death stirred human interest because of The Fast and the Furious’ obvious theme.

Vin Diesel’s Tribute to Paul Walker

Remembering his best friend, Diesel shared an Instagram photo showing a throwback of him and Walker during the MTV Movie Awards last 2002, Entertainment Weekly reported. That event marked their undeniable chemistry together as frenemies because of their award for best team on-screen. The first Fast and the Furious film became an instant phenomenon in those days.

Meanwhile, Diesel’s caption made it more heartbreaking yet inspiring. Diesel admitted that filming for the latest installment was a really hard thing to do. He added that it was a very challenging one. While noting the sweet endearment of Diesel to Walker which is “Pablo,” the actor said that Walker gave him strength, resolve and purpose during production.

Then, Diesel guaranteed Walker that the cast and crew would do anything they could to make the eighth installment a promising one. Lastly, he hoped that Walker already became proud of them while production was still ongoing. After saying that he misses Walker, Diesel ended the emotional caption with the franchise’s recurring and famous line: “Family above everything!”

The Fate of the Furious, also known as Fast & Furious 8, premieres on April 14, 2017.
