One of the busiest actors in Hollywood right now, Vin Diesel, is travelling the world in order to promote his latest film, xXx: Return of Xander Cage. However, recently, the actor received criticism in Brazil when he repeatedly flirted with an interviewer while the cameras are still rolling.
The interviewer, YouTube vlogger Carol Moreira, admitted that she felt uncomfortable after Diesel repeatedly ignored her questions to call her “sexy” and “beautiful.” To introduce the video on her channel, Moreira admitted that she felt “uncomfortable” during the exchange.
Diesel Apologizes
After the video blew up and major publications pick up the story, Diesel issued an apology on his Facebook page. He wrote:
“As you all know, I try to keep my interviews playful and fun, especially when I am in the Xander Zone… But if I offended anyone, then let me apologize, because that is never my intention.”
The 49-year-old also published the uncut version of the interview on Facebook. The 11-minute video started with Diesel talking about his first acting gig as well as his job as a bouncer before he hit it big in Hollywood. The flirting, however, started at the 7:50 mark when he commented about Moreira’s appearance.
The YouTuber’s interview has been viewed by over 4.5 million times since it was uploaded last week.
Xander Cage Returns to the Big Screen
Decades after his first adventure, Xander Cage (Diesel) returns from his self-imposed exile. The extreme sports enthusiast-turned-superspy is tasked in a race against time to recover a weapon only known as Pandora’s Box.
He recruits a superteam to aid in his new mission. Ruby Rose as Adele Wolff is a fatal sniper, Nina Dobrev as Becky Clearidge is a talented hacker/tech expert and Deepila Padukone as Serena Unger is the love interest.
xXx: Return of Xander Cage will be released on Jan. 20, 2017. The movie also stars Donnie Yen and Samuel L. Jackson.
