Vin Diesel has landed in a controversy over “xXx: The Return of Xander Cage” which is the sequel of “xXx: State of the Union” that got a poor response on box-office. It was earlier thought that the franchise might not return after the previous failure but Diesel took the responsibility to revive the “xXx”. But the actor-producer is now being sued by a former producer who claims that he owes around $275,000 for the upcoming installment.
According to The Wrap, it is stated that former producer of “xXx” franchise filed a lawsuit at Los Angeles Superior Court recently. The lawsuit mentions that he has worked for Vin Diesel’s One Race Films and is yet to receive credits and impending fees that are approximate $250,000 million.
Although they discontinued their professional tie-up in 2007 but as per the agreement he developed projects for him and for which he is entitled to due credit and money. So far nothing has been officially announced by Vin Diesel on the matter and has not even replied to the lawsuit yet as mentioned by Cinema Blend.
Vin Diesel starrer “xXx: The Return of Xander Cage” is directed by D. J. Caruso and feature Samuel L. Jackson, Donnie Yen, Tony Jaa, and Deepika Padukone in the important roles. Diesel will star in the role of Xander Cage. He is an athlete-turned-spy who will come back from self-imposed exile.
Cage has the responsibility to save the world from an unstoppable weapon that is called as Pandora’s Box. Will the movie be able to come out on time after landing in the impending lawsuit?
The action thriller film is already under works and slated to release on January 20 next year by Paramount Pictures.
