Paul Walker may not be around to continue the Fast & Furious franchise but the addition of Charlize Theron in “Fast and Furious 8” is getting positive praises. “Paul used to say that 8 was guaranteed and, in some ways, when your brother guarantees something, you have to make sure it comes to pass,” Diesel said during the MTV Movie Awards.
What is Theron’s role in the new upcoming Furious movie? She’s a villain named Cipher. Her character name sounds quite cryptic and inclined towards the tech expertise kind.
In “Fast and Furious 8”, the renowned actress shows to be rocking black colors with machine guns and slick hair extensions. She wore a black leather jacket with a Metallica shirt that reads, “Metal Up Your A**,” as posted by E!Online.
Her role and motive are not yet entirely clear but she, along with Vin Diesel and the gang, has been busy running around in Iceland, New York and Cuba for some “Fast 8” scenes. According to Empire Online, Dom (Vin Diesel) will be faced against the greatest villain they have ever faced. In the new installment, Theron’s role is described as a dark criminal, living in the deep underworld of secrets. Charlize Theron is being heavily promoted as a bad-ass in this movie. “Our crew has faced former military, mercenaries and more but they’ve never come across anyone like Cipher.”
The only difference is, Charlize Theron doesn’t do much driving in this upcoming movie compared to the veteran casts and other villains in the past Furious movies.
Fans will be treated to the returning appearance of Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Jason Statham, Lucas Black and Natalie Emmanuel. In addition to the cast, Scott Eastwood and Kristofer Hivju are also on board.
“Fast & Furious 8” officially titled “Fast 8” is scheduled to hit theaters on Apr. 14, 2017.
