The Fate of the Furious trailer dropped recently and it positively shocked many. With Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham and many others appearing in the movie, it will surely prove to be successful at the box office.
But with one major element of the franchise missing, will it ever be the same? Paul Walker whose character Brian was undoubtedly the soul of the franchise only appears as a picture in the trailer.

The Fate of the Furious Paul Walker
After Paul’s unfortunate demise, his absence can be felt in the latest movie’s trailer, too. In the sneak peek, Dom can be seen going rogue and working against the family he protected all this while.
While the cause for that would be Charlize Theron’s character Cipher, had Brian been there, things would probably not have turned the way they did. But is there any chance that the late actor’s character could make an appearance in the movie?
Here are some reasons.

Flashback
In the last movie, Brian and Mia retired from the business to raise a family. So, if there are any chances of Brian making an appearance, it would only be with a flashback.
Dom could be remembering him or might remember him when he goes rogue. In fact, Brian’s memories could only be the way for the family to get Dom back. If they were to remind him of the journey they have been on, chances are Dom might just snap out of Cipher’s control.
Special Effects
The news of Paul’s death came when he was still shooting for Furious 7. His brothers at the time stood up as body doubles for him and his face was recreated in the end via special effects.
If his brothers could do the same for a very small scene featuring Brian and Mia, fans could relive the moment and see Paul again in the franchise.
Cameo
As discussed earlier, Brian’s appearance could be a very small one but it would be important. In order to get Dom back to his senses, Brian could appear in a cameo role and help the family retrieve Dom back.
Deadline reported that the first official trailer of The Fate of the Furious set a record by garnering 139M views on YouTube beating the record of 127.6M by Beauty and the Beast.
The Fate of the Furious will release next year on April 14.
